Connect ChatGPT to iCloud

1. Create your Pear account

Sign up at pearmcp.com with your email. Connect iCloud during onboarding with an App-Specific Password. For ChatGPT, Pear uses OAuth, so you do not need to paste a raw API key into ChatGPT's app form.

2. Enable Developer Mode and add Pear

In ChatGPT:

1. Open Settings → Apps → Advanced settings and enable Developer mode
2. In Apps, click Create app and use the Pear server URL https://pearmcp.com/api/mcp
3. Continue through the Pear browser sign-in and consent flow

ChatGPT plan and workspace permissions still matter. If Pear connects but write actions are unavailable, check your ChatGPT plan or workspace settings before assuming the MCP setup itself is broken.

Once connected, Pear will appear in the app list and can be enabled inside Developer Mode conversations.

3. Start using it

ChatGPT can now use all 34 Pear tools to manage your Apple data:

• “What's on my schedule today and tomorrow?”
• “Block out 2 hours for deep work on Wednesday afternoon”
• “Remind me to submit the expense report by Friday”
• “What's the email address for my dentist?”
• “Batch-create reminders for all my weekly tasks”
• “Show me unread iCloud Mail from this morning and draft replies I can send.”

Why the old API key instructions were wrong

Older Pear docs said ChatGPT would ask for a raw Pear API key. That no longer matches the current ChatGPT custom app surface. If you do not see an API key box while adding Pear, you are on the expected flow.

If you connected Pear before the schema fixes shipped, use ChatGPT's app refresh or recreate the app so it reloads the latest tool definitions.
